What you'll do...

Develops pricing strategies to determine the proper market position to maximize fuel gallons and drive traffic. Determines retail fuel prices based on industry data at all Walmart fuel stations. Works with suppliers/logistics providers to determine monthly gallon allocations to ensure product supply and reduce fuel outages. Identifies strategic opportunities within fuel pricing by understanding and communicating current pricing dynamics. Improves business efficiencies by using various analytical methodologies. Analyzes fuel markets to improve market efficiency. Communicate with replenishment partners at benchmark market data to influence better performance with fuel pricing. Utilizes and supports the Open Door Policy.

Promotes a low-cost fuel price mindset and the EDLP business model to all budgeted plans. Collaborates with business partners, both internal and external . Formulates tools that support decision making and business cases in the fuel pricing area. Seeks and implements continuous improvements and encourages team members to leverage new digital tools and ways of working to enhance fuel performance.

Uses a business prospective that considers data, analytics, and other parts of the business to achieved budgeted commitments when shaping the fuel pricing strategy. Utilizes the expertise of other team members to enhance business systems and improve fuel pricing performance by fostering a cross-functional work environment. Promotes an awareness of the business impact of fuel by communicating performance results, key indicators, and current market trends to Walmart fuel leadership and store management. Adopts a holistic perspective that considers data, analytics, customer insights, and different parts of the business when making plans and shaping fuel pricing strategies. Monitors and understands competitor strategies and how they use fuel in their overall market strategy and develops solutions to counter them. Provides solution-based action plans to maximize aggregate performance and adjustments to fuel pricing strategies.

Creates a focus around improving the development of fuel pricing skillsets by utilizing pricing system entities (for example, Kalibrate). Promotes team atmosphere and motivates team members to perform at a high level. Recognizes team member contributions and accomplishments. Identifies, attracts, and retains diverse and inclusive team members. Builds a high-performing team. Promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Guides and directs operating systems needs by ensuring coordination between third-party suppliers and field operations. Identifies key performance indicators to improve overall fuel station performance. Develops new fuel pricing solutions through collaboration with third-party suppliers (for example, Kalibrate, OPIS).

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.

Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related area and 3 years’ experience in retail pricing or sourcing.
Option 2: 5 years’ experience in retail management, retail pricing, sourcing, finance, or related area.
