Security Manager I, Security – Risk Intelligence

Security Managers (SMs) specializing in risk intelligence produce data-driven assessments of internal and external security risks to people, business operations, and assets by evaluating the geopolitical, criminal, and societal drivers of crisis events. SMs support Walmart’s US and International businesses by translating risk data into threat assessments that identify security risks that can impact critical business operations.  SM’s evaluate requirements for threat monitoring against open source and other reporting streams to identify emerging risks that they assess and communicate through a variety of risk intelligence products. SMs are required to make urgent complex decisions, use excellent professional judgement, and protect associates and customers and the Walmart brand. SMs work quickly to interpret available data through the lenses of their experiences, professional training, and Walmart’s risk intelligence framework to deliver timely and relevant security risk assessments. SM’s support emergency and crisis management as required as well as enterprise risk management. 

You’ll sweep us off our feet if:

  • You build strong relationships with cross-functional partners

  • You have previous experience with security risk intelligence in either the public or private sector understand complex investigative processes with expertise on Latin America or Africa geopolitical issues.

  • You are a strong writer with excellent critical thinking skills

  • You have experience with using open-source data to identify security threats

  • You have prior experience working with structured analytic techniques

  • You have expertise in security/threat crime and societal violence analysis to include executive protection or travel security

  • You have a professional understanding of risk spotting and risk mitigation tactics

  • You are comfortable with critical decision making in uncertain situations

  • You are an effective and clear communicator

  • Build a team culture: Expects, develops, and strengthens relationships internally and externally through trust and regular feedback.

  • Operating with excellence: Layer clear, challenging, achievable expectations and goals with business initiatives; anticipate and plan for on-going improvement in performance, efficiency, and subject matter expertise.
