We are looking for a Senior Manager II - Linux Systems, who is passionate and enthusiastic about helping to shape the future of Walmart Store Technology! Magnificent team player skills and a collaborative mind-set are required to augment your strong leadership skills. We work hard and play harder, so a great attitude and sense of humor is a bonus!  This is a new supervisory position for the Intelligent Store Services Team.

Responsibilities...

  • Strong leadership and management skills: You’ll lead and motivate a team of software engineers, as well as develop and implement strategies for achieving team goals.
  • Experience with managing large and complex software projects: You will use your experience with managing all aspects of software development projects, from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • You will be working in a fast-paced and demanding environment: You will be expected to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.


What you'll bring...

  • Experience with Linux at enterprise scale; Ubuntu, SuSe SLES 11/12/15, RedHat, CentOS, etc.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Ruby, Shell, Perl, Python, and/or Powershell
  • Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Knowledge of Puppet and Ansible automation tools
  • Experience with GIT or a similar Version Control system
  • Experience with containers (Nutanix, Kubernetes, Docker, etc)
  • Experience with VMWare and vSAN management and concepts

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
