The People Tech Talent Team is looking for an Engineer with expertise in UI development for both desktop and mobile platforms. This is a hands-on role which would need coding expertise along with business or domain knowledge and good communication skills. As a member of our dynamic team, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge user interfaces that enhance the user experience for our global workforce.

About Team: 
Our team is focused on developing a streamlined, dependable company that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience (ADE). We also provide a variety of services such as procurement, supplier portfolio management, merchandising master data, and analytics. From developing HR chatbots and virtual assistants to creating invoice solutions and facilitating legal changes, we help drive efficiency across Walmart globally. 

What you'll do:

  • UI Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement responsive and intuitive user interfaces for desktop and mobile applications. Use your expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, ReactJS, React Native  to deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Mobile Optimization: Ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of UI components across various mobile platforms, including iOS and Android. Leverage your knowledge of mobile development frameworks and best practices to create efficient and user-friendly mobile experiences.
  • User-Centric Design: Work closely with UX designers to understand user requirements and translate them into practical and visually appealing UI designs. Employ your creative problem-solving skills to find innovative solutions that balance usability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Code Quality and Testing: Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using industry best practices. Conduct thorough unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing to ensure high-quality software delivery. Collaborate with QA engineers to identify and resolve any UI-related issues or bugs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Engage in effective communication with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend developers. Participate in agile development processes, providing valuable insights and actively contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Innovation and Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest UI trends, technologies, and industry best practices. Proactively identify opportunities to improve existing UI frameworks, tools, and processes. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.​

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UI development, with a focus on both desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React.
  • Experience in mobile UI development using React Native.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles and mobile optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design patterns and best practices.
  • Proficiency in version control systems, such as Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a focus on delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
  • Passion for learning and keeping up with the latest advancements in UI development and technology.
