What you'll do...

About Team:

As a technical member of the of the Data Science (DS) Machine Learning Engineering (MLE) group, you’ll also be responsible for aiding in the design and implementation of intelligent products, services, and applications that are powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are currently focused on building engineering solutions focused on streamlining the way our associates work and doing so with responsible and ethical AI practices. As such, you’ll operate as a trusted advisor as it relates to efficiencies and best practices. As a member of the team, you’ll be able to say that you work for the world’s largest retailer and contribute to the development to best-in-class methodologies that help lead the next retail disruption. 

What you'll do:

• Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to support a wide variety of NLP, time series forecasting, and computer vision applications. 
• Ensure the usage of models are compliant with ethical and regulatory standards, by developing and implementing AI governance policies, monitoring data usage, and ensuring transparency and explain ability of the AI models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features, improve performance, and resolve issues that arise in the previously mentioned applications.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, by conducting research and attending industry conferences and events.
• Analyze data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

What you'll bring:

• Strong Data Science and Machine Learning Skills: The ideal candidate for this role should have a deep u understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning techniques. They should be proficient in Python as well as related machine learning libraries and frameworks.
• Ethical and Responsible AI: The candidate should be knowledgeable in AI governance principles and capable of implementing them in practical settings. They should have a strong understanding of ethical considerations and be able to ensure the tool chain is responsible in its use of data and AI. 
• Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: The candidate should be able to communicate effectively with team members from various technical backgrounds, as well as stakeholders who are not necessarily familiar with data science. They should also be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
• Attention to Detail and Problem-Solving Skills: The candidate should be detail-oriented and have excellent problem-solving skills. They should be able to identify and address issues that may arise in the tool chain and be able to troubleshoot effectively. 
• Continuous Learning: The candidate should be passionate about data science and AI and should be committed to continuous learning. They should be able to keep up to date with the latest developments in the field and continuously improve their skills and knowledge.

Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
