The Sam’s Club Member Access Platform [MAP] is the nexus of the Supplier -Marketer- Merchant partnership and are responsible for delivering our suppliers (advertisers) impactful omnichannel member additive ad experiences.

The Measurement Insights and Data Strategy [MINDS] team is a newly formed data and analytics function within the MAP organization, responsible for providing media performance measurement, activation strategy, innovative targeting, and audience solutions to our suppliers, while driving data governance and stewardship, and monetization strategy for internal cross-functional teams. The MINDS team will play a critical role in accelerating the growth of Sam’s Club media business with the best-in-class performance measurement, media insights and data strategy.

In this Food & Grocery Industry Media Insights and Strategy Lead role, you will get to leverage your highly analytical skills, while maximizing your consultative, storytelling skills, connecting the dots across rich 1P member shopper insights, digital media industry trends and longitudinal media performance to develop highly actionable and impactful media campaign, audience, messaging, and channel recommendations for the top Fortune 500 food and grocery suppliers. You have rich experience and deep knowledge in food, grocery, and digital media industries, and have consistently leveraged data and insights to drive media decisions. You are familiar with onsite display, search and offsite programmatic ad campaigns, measurement KPIs and emerging ad tech such as CTV (connected TV), social commerce, shoppable ads, etc. You are passionate about generating and leveraging insights and turning them into media activation strategies. Experience with nation’s top food and grocery brands’ digital marketing team, media agencies, measurement and analytics, retail media network, and ad tech companies are highly valued. You will interface closely with Analytics COE, Sales, Marketing and Ops teams and have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the growth of MAP business. This role will report into MAP’s Head of Measurement Insights and Data Strategy.

You'll make an impact by…

  • Combine empirical evidence from campaign trends with market signals to create compelling insight-driven audience strategy and powerful targeting narratives that enable advertisers to achieve their business objectives

  • Serve as strategic consultant and insights partner to MAP advertisers, Sales, and Media Planners for category and seasonal media insights and strategy

  • Research and aggregate food and grocery industry trends and translate them into media targeting, messaging, and conversion opportunities

  • Extract member shopping behavior insights from MADRiD insights platform and map them to industry trends to delineate similarities and differences of Sam’s Club member audience and articulate unique marketing opportunities to Sam’s Club member base

  • Partner with qualitative research team to conduct member survey to collect and synthesize industry specific trends and preferences among Sam’s Club audience

  • Develop monthly, quarterly industry retail media trend fact sheets for education and distribution to sales and advertisers

  • Provide white glove brand-level media insights consultation service to top tier JBP partners by generating curated learning agenda and participating in Q&A sessions in quarterly business reviews for audience insights

  • Partner with measurement insights leads to translate learnings from the longitudinal campaign performance into customized brand specific playbook for audience creation and modification for future campaign planning

  • Participate in purchase funnel and campaign tactic strategy discussions and contribute to developing ideal media mix to meet supplier’s business goals

You'll sweep us off our feet if you…

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in Marketing, Digital advertising, Data Analytics, Media Consulting or related fields

  • 6+ years of experience in retail media, digital advertising, marketing strategy, performance measurement, etc., preferably for food and grocery industry

  • Familiarity with digital retail media campaign KPIs (ROAS, iROAS, CPC, CVR, CPM, SOV, AOV, ACOS, TACOS, impressions, reach, frequency, etc.)

  • Well versed in ad-tech and mar-tech industry with extensive work experience in data and insights across the consumer funnel

  • Outstanding analytical, consultative skills; develop presentation slides and narratives and deliver strong presentations to client execs

  • Industry experience with digital marketing team, media agencies, measurement and analytics, retail media network, and ad tech companies

  • Curious, collaborative and enjoys working on complex problems

The annual salary range for this position is $91,000.00-$156,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree or higher in data analytics, digital marketing, media consulting, or related area.
6 years’ experience in retail media, digital advertising, marketing strategy, performance measurement, or related area, preferably in the food and grocery industry.
Prior work experience with digital retail media campaign key performance indicators (for example, ROAS, iROAS, CPC, CVR, CPM, SOV, AOV, ACOS, TACOS, impressions, reach, frequency).
Prior work experience in the ad-tech and mar-tech industry, with extensive work experience in data and insights across the consumer funnel.
