Walmart Connect is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, sellers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, and agencies. Our full funnel ad solutions leverage Walmart's in-store and online data, extensive reach, and to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service; these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with Walmart consumers, and convert Walmart consumers to shoppers.

As a Sales Strategy Lead on our Sales Operations team, you will report to the Director of Sales Strategy, Performance, & Tools. You will use your 8+ years of media experience within Strategy, Planning, Yield, Ad Ops, and/or Insights & Analytics to partner with various cross-functional partners to:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement on existing in-market sales activities
  • Support Sales Heads of Industries to build macro-level sales strategies for their cohorts of Suppliers and Sellers
  • Partner with Analytics team to better understand macro sales trends to inform monetization strategies – product mix, operational inefficiencies, systems development, etc.

The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of the media industry, agency landscape as well as the ad tech side of the ecosystem. This is a highly analytical, cross-functional, and operationally focused role. This role will align with the Sales Strategy Manager and counterparts within the broader WMC organization (Yield, Product, Ad Ops, Analytics, and Marketing).


  • Develop streamlined process of testing new product features/tools, valuation of new products, and betas for sales organization to execute against that aligns with overall sales strategy
  • Partner with Analytics and Marketing teams to generate data driven insights into internal consumer-based trends at a macro and vertical specific level as well as leveraging external market performance data and research
  • Discover areas of operational inefficiencies between Campaign Management, Account Management, and Ad Operations and work with respective stakeholders to define and implement key workflows between the teams
  • Identify, scope, and drive critical projects and initiatives that help drive revenue in a scalable and operationally efficient manner
  • Frame and break down complex business problems into key components, design analysis to drive insights and answers to critical questions, and recommend practical solutions to get results
  • Collect & analyze data, information, and research (e.g., market data, competitive analysis, etc.) through quantitative and qualitative mechanisms to make decisions on critical strategic issue
  • Support management in strategic, operational planning and ensure decisions align overall WMC sales approach and goals
  • Establish operational excellence and ensure we have strong plans and KPIs in place at an industry level for our Suppliers and Sellers
  • Partner with Sales Partnerships lead to develop alternative monetization strategies that include third parties using a data driven approach
  • Discover and drive new solutions and improvements across the sales platforms, tools, and processes
  • Partner with Insights & Analytics to understand current product mix and how existing sales strategy is impacting/changing the portfolio and understanding revenue implications.


  • 8+ years work experience in media industry in planning, ad operations, sales operations, or strategy.
  • 3+ years of leading cross-functional teams
  • Experienced in developing long-term media strategies based on data insights.
  • Strong analytic and quantitative skills, that enable you to use data to develop, validate and measure multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of media research, trafficking, tracking and reporting processes, techniques, and technologies.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple, simultaneous solutions executed by support teams.
  • Excellent relationship building, stakeholder management, and communication skills
  • Experience with data driven marketing (e.g with a data management platform) is a plus.
  • Experience developing or overseeing quantitative analysis and delivering actionable insights.
  • Ambitious self-starter mentality and entrepreneurial spirit with a strong drive for excellence and delivery of results.
  • Experience with Salesforce, SQL relational databases and BI tools like Tableau
  • Intermediate or advanced skills in Excel and SQL is a plus.
