Walmart Intermodal is looking for top talent to join the organization. The Walmart intermodal team is seeking entrepreneurial minded, solution oriented, creative problem solvers to help build this program. The ideal candidate has in-depth analytical skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions and create buy-in from stakeholders. This Manager will influence across the organization; including but not limited to, providing cost reductions, analyzing the impact and benefits to internal processes, network design, strategic initiatives, step-function improvements, and long-term planning. Additional responsibilities include supporting a diverse and inclusive team by coaching and mentoring, nurturing positive employee relations, and leading by example.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to lean into their peers and internal and external stakeholders. This is a high impact team with great visibility from executive leadership at Walmart.

  • Drive and cultivate the Walmart Intermodal team’s long-term vision of network strategy and business planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Strategy teams, Finance, Walmart’s Private Fleet, Transportation Operations) and adjacent Analytics resources to lead, support, and influence new business initiatives
  • Escalate risks in the business plan to the relevant owners and teams, following through to resolution to ensure they are resolved
  • Navigate through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the cross-functional processes and delivering on commitments
  • Extract data from numerous databases (SQL, Excel, and/or other data management systems) to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Define and develop performance KPIs to assist with driving business objectives. Use data to streamline and improve network efficiencies, and for future planning and design. Create data visualizations to illustrate metrics and recommendations
  • Build strong partnerships across the organization and leverage in-depth data to inform future design

An ideal candidate should have:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Finance, Applied Math, or related discipline
  • Experience with supply chain management concepts - forecasting, planning, operations, optimization, logistics and transportation- gained through work experience or graduate level education
  • Experience operating with significant autonomy and discretion as well as influencing other teams in and across organizations and external teams
  • Experience developing strategy as well as setting vision and driving adoption across an organization with minimal engagement from leadership
  • 5 years’ experience with SQL (writing queries), advanced Excel, and data analysis skills to pull raw data, quantify results, and present recommendation on paths forward
  • Ability to create presentations with reporting or recommendations for leadership
  • Strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and flexibility while working with all levels of the organization and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Project management skillset; ability to organize and prioritize tasks, and track to completion

An ideal candidate would exceed our expectations with:

  • Demonstrated success building a strategy from end to end and driving acceptance across an organization
  • Experience managing physical assets within an intermodal team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Six Sigma- Certification
  • Project Management- PMP Certificate

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 2 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area. 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Office.
