The Director of Anti-Corruption Risk and Monitoring is responsible for the global anti-corruption continuous improvement efforts consisting of continuous monitoring activities, designed to evaluate risk across various processes and functions of the business, occurring simultaneously across multiple international locations. This role requires frequent international travel and reports directly to the VP & Global Anti-Corruption Compliance Officer. Responsibilities include:
Designs, implements, and leads global projects to ensure compliance across various compliance areas (for example, Anti- Corruption, Environmental, Monitoring) by developing strategies to provide market specific procedures, processes, and controls around compliance; overseeing the development of program-performance metrics to track compliance improvements and opportunities across the globe; and presenting information to executives, compliance officers, and subject-matter experts to further refine and execute compliance strategies.
Communicates with international markets to ensure understanding of compliance laws by conducting discussions with market teams to understand accountability and training needs; overseeing the development of training on continuous improvement efforts based on market specific compliance gaps; and evaluating the effectiveness of training.
Drives support activities, policies, governance, and training for team members and business partners by ensuring team members are provided technical guidance on continuous improvement review and mitigation strategies; analyzing and interpreting compliance regulations and providing guidance on emerging issues and trends; and identifying and communicating how the policy, procedures, and controls are applied.
Identifies, measures, and obtains buy-in from executives (for example, country Presidents, General Counsels, Chief Financial Officers) to execute program objectives by preparing presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors representatives to communicate compliance risks; identifying items for inclusion in communications utilizing monitoring results; measuring mitigation plan progress for risks reported to the Board of Directors; anticipating questions from the Board of Directors and executive leadership; communicating monitoring and mitigation progress to executive leadership; and coordinating the timing and communication of reporting.
Manage a team of associates located in the US and throughout multiple international locations where the company operates;
Lead all anti-corruption monitoring reviews and resources;
Lead the third-party audit program to assess third-party adherence to the company’s anti-corruption requirements, interactions with government entities and officials, certain aspects of the compliance environment, and other potential red flags;
Assign resources to effectively execute the required monitoring activities and address risk;
Report monitoring results and efforts to senior leadership of the company;
Identify trends from monitoring observations and partner with the appropriate stakeholders to address; and
Support, track, and report remedial activities resulting from all the monitoring efforts.
