Supports and maintains company tax payment and collection policies and processes (for example, compliance, audit) by managing the specialty tax data collection process; creating and reviewing tax matrices; obtaining missing or incomplete tax data from departments, vendors, and customers; maintaining state specific tax knowledge to manage the evaluation and review of tax accruals; partnering with stakeholders to determine opportunities for sales tax credits and ensuring application; determining options for tax payment; ensuring credits are taken in accordance with state and local regulations; recovering refunds; tracking daily support activities; providing guidance to associates ( for example, Accountant I) in tax payment and collection processes; responding to state tax inquiries; and advising internal and external Customers on company tax compliance practices.
Supports and maintains tax compliance and procedural documentation by sharing and updating stakeholders with process information (for example, Specialty tax audit team); researching, identifying and communicating process irregularities to management; communicating Tax Department strategy to internal and external Customers; and supporting internal Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audit processes within the Specialty tax Department.
