Develops healthcare services for Sam's Club by utilizing clinical and medical expertise in the health services industry to evaluate and propose health services opportunities; assessing organizational readiness for the implementation of new initiatives; defining the health services framework clearly and concisely; identifying gaps in the healthcare system that could be potential opportunities; eliminating barriers to achieve strategic initiatives; developing and managing budget spending for health services programs; and developing communications and presentations for proposing new health services business plans to gain senior leadership buy-in.
Develops and communicates the vision and strategy for health and wellness patient safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement by assessing economic trends and patient population; preparing, administering, and reviewing budgets and reports (for example, quality, performance, financial); forecasting financial performance; evaluating infrastructure (for example, systems, processes training) and assets and advising Operations leadership on patient safety and quality; allocating resources to facilitate product investment decisions; and supervising the development and prioritization of training and professional development programs.
Develops and implements Sam's Club Health and Wellness programs by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current tests, programs, and initiatives; developing implementation plans; developing training for new concepts and implementation processes; communicating training plans to Field Operations; establishing and providing timelines for implementation of concepts; ensuring new ideas or concepts are integrated properly within operational systems, and processes; and managing and resolving implementation issues.
Develops and oversees large, cross-functional and cross-organizational strategic initiatives and projects by assessing key opportunities to understand current process and value gaps; setting department direction and vision to anticipate current and future business and healthcare needs; leading the innovations portfolio based on the overall Health and Wellness strategy; evaluating return on investment; creating, evaluating, and modifying operational processes to improve store level experience for customers and associates; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; collaborating with cross-functional teams (for example, Legal, Compliance, Audit) to understand compliance risk; and ensuring prioritization of Health and Wellness initiatives within the total company.
Creates professional development and training for Sam's Club Health and Wellness professionals (for example, pharmacists, pharmacy techs, optometrists, opticians) to increase engagement in Sam's Club Health and Wellness initiatives by diagnosing, analyzing, and translating professional development needs into objectives and tactics; partnering with key operations leaders to identify and clarify training and development needs and expectations; collaborating with Walmart Health and Wellness to leverage existing programs; ensuring corporate and divisional goals are aligned with business and professional development plans; revising and adapting training courses and materials to meet the needs of Sam's Club; incorporating the organization's core themes and philosophies into training and professional development materials; designing training aids (for example, videos, slide shows, graphic reproductions, sample documents); and adapting course material based on procedural changes.
Leads the development and implementation of business solutions and enhancements to current Health and Wellness businesses by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; collaborating with the Member Insights team to ensure business objectives and member needs are met; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities; and promoting a member-focused environment.
Develops ideas and innovations to create new clinical services programs, improve existing programs, and lead to incremental sales growth by prioritizing and executing a business development process that delivers solutions to market; coordinating with other centers of innovation within Health and Wellness to deliver new programs; building executive-level relationships with major healthcare organizations, academia, and research and development areas to facilitate thought leadership discussions that lead to enhanced positioning and offerings; and working cross-functionally with the Payer Relations Analytics team to expand and execute business development priorities.
