Develops work plans for approved projects and manages projects through design and implementation by working, communicating, and coordinating with outside advisers and internal stakeholders to ensure the completion of projects; collaborating with other areas within tax, Legal, and in-country tax teams outside the United States; building customer relationships and demonstrating knowledge of the business; and serving as a tax liaison with different departments.
Oversees the execution of international tax planning by updating tax analysis and working with tax leadership; demonstrating an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts; discussing moderately complex tax issues with business teams; and keeping informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge to customer situations.
Manages accuracy and integrity of tax returns, forms, and audits by assessing tax work papers federal, state, and international operations; executing and ensuring correction of deficiencies; working with internal and external auditors to ensure proper financial statement reporting; maintaining and testing processes for Sarbanes-Oxley reporting and compliance; guiding and mentoring analysts in income tax compliance processes and procedures; and preparing and reporting test results.
Oversees support for the global income tax department by staying up-to-date with income tax compliance regulations at the state and federal level; working with other tax department stakeholders to manage the processes and the projects to meet company's income tax accounting responsibilities; analyzing current and deferred tax assets and liabilities; analyzing and determining all effective tax rate implications and issues; preparing and reviewing company's income tax provision and effective tax rate computations; reporting on, and explaining effective tax rates to financial planning group for budgeting and forecasting purposes; and compiling data and creating reports to support senior management on state audit projects.
Manages medium- to high-complexity federal and state income tax returns, forms, and reporting of international operations by gathering financial data from departments and divisions; analyzing and incorporating data into returns; preparing work papers and supporting schedules; managing state tax notices and recommending resolutions to issues within established timelines; reviewing and responding to information requisitions; processing financial and tax data using professional tax software in order to adhere to deadlines imposed by the Internal Revenue Service Compliance Assurance Program; and presenting income tax results to senior management.
