What you'll do at

Jet’s goal is to make city living better and the Business Development team at Jet is focused on developing Jet’s new consumer shopping experience within urban areas.   Jet’s Business Development team is working on multiple projects to develop a better eCommerce experience within NYC and other urban areas.  Working at Jet - within the Walmart portfolio - allows Jet to innovate using our massive combined resources to have impact at scale and reinvent eCommerce.

 About the Role:

 The Director, Business Development Strategy at Jet will help lead Jet’s future-focused strategy and play a key role identifying, analyzing, prioritizing, and communicating new strategic opportunities within Jet.  This position reports to Jet’s VP of Business Development and will work closely with Jet’s management team and, occasionally, cross-functionally with other teams in Walmart eCommerce (e.g., Strategy, Retail, and Home Office corporate teams).  This small team’s goal is to help develop Jet’s near-term future in eCommerce.

 What you’ll do: 

  • Create and drive alignment around Jet’s new projects and initiatives in an entrepreneurial way
  • Apply strategic thinking and perform complex analysis to key questions presented by the VP of

Business Development, or Jet’s CEO, and other members of Jet’s management team

  • Regularly scope, present and communicate Jet’s future key strategic direction internally
  • Assess new Jet-focused commercial, operational, partnership or urban-specific opportunities
  • If an M&A opportunity for Walmart has a targeted effect for Jet, work with Walmart’s strategy team on this opportunity
  • Manage the Business Development portion of Jet’s new initiatives process to analyze, develop and scope these opportunities
  • As a sole contributor on the Business Development team, be willing to get your hands dirty and manage the minutiae of Jet’s Business Development process

 What you should have:

  • 5-8 years of business experience, preferably in strategy, consulting and ecommerce
  • 2-4 years of leadership experience
  • High academic achievement
  • Experience working cross-functionally and representing your company in discussions/negotiations with third parties
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • juggle multiple projects with competing demands
    • collect information from disparate sources and deliver combined and actionable analysis
    • strategically approach problems with an entrepreneurial mindset
    • be flexibility in approach to problem solving
  • A positive attitude that reflects Jet’s and Walmart’s values
  • BA/BS degree required
  • Able to travel domestically as needed
