What you'll do at

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

Duties: Responsible for database administration in a mission-critical, 24/7 environment. Support systems including e-commerce, accounting, customer service, and warehouse management and decision support. Deploy and operate mission critical databases. Provide 24/7 on-call database operational support on rotation basis. Develop scripts and other programs for system monitoring and maintenance as well as deploy strategies for backups, migration of databases changes, and longer term system growth. Identify and resolve more than 95% issues proactively with Oracle database monitoring tools. Ensure the database has sufficient capacity to meet peak season forecasts with 25% margin, while maintaining consistent response time. Contribute to implementation of database/site scalability/capacity architecture to support 3x business growth. Implement projects resulting from Failure Point Analysis as well as work with software development team to identify the database requirements for application deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 5 years of experience working with databases in a 24x7 Environment or related field.

Skills required: Experience with Oracle Database running on UNIX, Solaris, and Linux. SQL tuning experience. Demonstrated knowledge of database high availability solutions like Data Guard, RAC, Physical and logical standby databases, streams, or Golden Gate replication. Experience assisting developers with writing code in SQL, Perl and Python. Experience with Oracle Exadata Administration and Patching. Experience with MySQL Cluster and Delphix. Experience with Oracle database solutions such as ASM, RMAN, RAC, and OEM 12c. Experience with TOAD and SQL-Developer. Experience in configuring and monitoring using Nagios. Experience creating dashboards using Grafana. Demonstrated knowledge of Database performance analysis. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
