What you'll do at

We are seeking a Software Engineer III professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

Duties: Design and develop high performance, low latency codes for Wal-Mart's products. Utilize Java and Spring for development of optimal and maintainable software solutions. Perform real time data processing with data streaming platforms including Apache Kafka and Apache Storm. Perform data analysis using big data tools including Hive, Spark, and Cassandra. Create high level technical architecture and design. Write test cases and ensure the high test coverage. Document business logic implemented in the codes which can be referenced by co-developers and other teams. Utilize project management and goal setting tools including JIRA and BetterWorks. Collaborate with the QA team to ensure that the quality software is delivered. Monitor the software performance in the production environment and provide technical support. Troubleshoot business and production issues by creating alerts and providing solutions to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills required: Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL technologies including Cassandra and Solr. Experience building services using back end technologies including Java and Spring. Demonstrated knowledge of big data technologies including Hive and Spark. Experience developing with HTTP/RESTful APIs. Demonstrated knowledge of scripting in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Perl, Python, Ruby, or Shell. Experience with Agile development environment. Demonstrated knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code. Experience with building software with multiple internal dependent software modules requiring complex integrations. Experience with writing efficient and readable code. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
