What you'll do at

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer professional in our San Bruno, CA office.

Duties: Design, prototype, and deliver highly scalable and reliable production ready code. Develop and operate code across multiple productions systems. Work with Hadoop / MapReduce and large-scale Analytics systems that are capable of ingesting, managing, storing and analyzing hundreds of terabytes of data. Lead discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design. Guide the work of other small groups of four to six engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned engineering projects. Work closely with engineering management on optimizing all engineering processes such as estimation, architecture, task definition, etc. Work closely with Project Managers on planning and execution tracking. Model compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Provide and support the implementation of business solutions. Provide applications development support to the business. Troubleshoot business and production issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 3 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 6 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Demonstrated knowledge of Java, Python, and Shell Scripting. Linux and Unix experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Hadoop, MapReduce, HDFS, Hive. Experience with MySQL, Cassandra, ETL. Kafka, Web Services, and RESTful APIs experience. Experience working with Big Data Infrastructures. Experience working with real time architectures.
