What you'll do at

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

Duties: Execute projects and plans to optimize the performance of Customer Promise products like sourcing and order promising, order management, supply chain, logistics, inventory management and forecasting, returns, and integration with fulfillment centers and third-party drop ship vendors while maintaining performance at scale. Build solutions that enable sophisticated automation and workflows. Implement cutting edge models and algorithms that operate on massive amounts of data. Develop high performance and scalable solutions that extract, transform, and load big data. Execute projects and plans to manage highly scalable and efficient combinatorial supply chain software engine and platform that ensure customers get their orders delivered on-time while optimizing for lower cost and also ensures that every order taken is dropped to correct supply-chain facility such that operational constraints and promised delivery date are met. Represent the team in architectural and technical discussions with other engineering teams. Represent the team in discussions with the Product and Business teams. Work closely with engineering management on optimizing all engineering processes such as estimation, architecture, task definition, etc. Work closely with Project Managers on planning and execution tracking. Participate as an individual contributor in the design and implementation of sophisticated features. Optimizing and refactoring the existing code base and making sure our customers don’t experience any production issues. Build, deployment and continuous integration processes to move the code and configurations from local development environments to QA and Production environments. Drive production deployments using platform’s automated CI and deployment tools. Responsible for production environment health as first priority, enabling automated monitoring and alerting and ensuring close to 100% uptime. Work as Level 3 production support engineer on a rotation-basis to help Level 2 production support team for any production issue where engineering help is required. Provide support in troubleshooting / investigations pertaining to the sourcing and promising systems and inventory management systems. Recommend engineering best practices, including use of java design patterns, code reviews, and automated unit testing. Supervise work of six (6) Application Engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience building highly distributed, scalable systems dealing with large datasets; OR Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience building highly distributed, scalable systems dealing with large datasets.

Skills required: Demonstrated understanding of system design and integration and how they interact with each other. Demonstrated knowledge of Supply Chain especially Outbound supply chain including Transportation and Network optimizations. Demonstrated knowledge of programming languages such as JAVA and other shell scripting capabilities. Experience working on LINUX. Object oriented design experience. Demonstrated knowledge of building large scale and distributed systems and working with systems such as Hadoop. Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing logic to do order fulfillment. Order and Inventory management experience. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
