What you'll do

The Senior Director will influence, coach, mentor and bring zero-loss, TPM and Lean principles and methodologies within our Distribution network and facilities across the US. We are creating a culture of continuous improvement that will allow our associates to become engaged, enabled and empowered to own the process.

Establishes and develops operations improvement strategies utilizing TPM & Lean Methodologies to create a Performance System that is deployable across all formats by anticipating short-term and long-term business needs; identifying operations industry trends and market forces; assessing organizational readiness for change and gaps among current and future operations processes and procedures; ensuring the appropriate resources are in place; developing and establishing objectives to drive efficiency, close gaps, and implement work process improvements; and influencing expectations and needs of business leaders and obtaining buy-in and approvals.
Develops materials for both classroom and floor level operations that supports the transfer of knowledge of the performance system elements to all levels within the organization to build capabilities and deliver project results while achieving culture change.
Designs and executes implementation strategy and project plans, while being flexible based on the particular critical needs for each specific operation yet maintains the consistency of process and approach to the methodologies that are core to the system.
Designs, executes and oversees implementation strategy and project plans, while being flexible as need for each individual site’s critical business needs and controls by communicating initiatives and programs to executive leadership; leading the development of workflows to ensure alignment within and across the various retail formats; ensuring project timelines align throughout the organization and modifying timelines as needed; and collaborating with the associate training academies to design and implement training.
Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing Performance System strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a holistic, associate centered environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
Leverages the principles and methodologies of TPM/Lean to deliver breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Service, Financial and Morale results in operations, by creating an environment that loss data driven and allows associates to increase and achieve their fullest potential to enable the organization to achieve maximum enablement and empowerment of everyone as an effective problem solver.
Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering disciplines, or extensive experience in leadership positions in a manufacturing environment that has implemented and sustained TPM/Lean activities at a world class level
3 years experience in implementation of TPM/Lean methodologies in manufacturing industries

Preferred Qualifications

5 + years background in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) within operations
Extensive knowledge of all methodologies of the pillars found within the Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance approach to TPM
5+ years experience in implementation of a fully associate-led and owned safety process
5+ years experience in Zero Based Thinking and Analytics with solid problem solving skills to deliver transformative results
Demonstrated ability to design, develop and deliver education and training materials
5+ years experience in running operations with TPM/WCM principles and methodologies
Guided and lead facilities to win JIPM TPM awards
