What you'll do at Walmart Labs

You will be lead the way in creating new products that enable our web and app users to have an even more delightful experience when they walk into our stores. We want to make the Walmart app an integral part of our store shoppers’ lives. The app should help our store shoppers save time, save money, get access to a broader assortment and generally feel like a an amazing companion when they are in the store.

Walmart is in a unique position due to it’s large online footprint and massive chain of stores. We can deliver synergies between the digital experience and the offline shopping experience in ways that add a lot of value to our customers’ lives.

@WalmartLabs is looking for a strong Product leader to set the north star for this area of our omni-channel business. You will manage the strategy and a team of talented product managers to form and execute against your vision. You will be asked to think end to end about our user journey, develop a deep understanding of the needs of our in store shoppers and how to best serve them through the app (and website). You will be responsible for the quality and success of the products you and your team ship.

To be successful in this role, you must deeply understand our store shoppers’ needs and develop opinion as to how to best support their shopping experience through the app. You must enable your Product team as well as the cross functional team to work in efficient ways to quickly prototype and seek customer feedback to validate ideas. You must thrive in the creative process and be deeply analytical to make difficult decisions based on data.

•Collaborate and drive internal stakeholders to consensus on what to build
•Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
•Develop and champion a product vision and product strategy
•Navigate and negotiate through complex business & technology relationships
•Make product decisions based on data, metrics and most importantly, the customer
•Define and influence product designs and overall user experience
•Serve as a thought leader within the team and the broader enterprise
•Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics
•Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce
•Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals
•Directs product initiatives
•Ensures the delivery of the product area portfolio
•Leads the formulation of product vision and strategy for a single product area
•Provides overall direction for a Product Management area

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a technical field (Engineering preferred)
• 10+ years of product management experience (5+ with MBA) at high growth technology firm
• Technology background, including embedded hardware and software
• Effective communication among highly technical teams
• Proven track record of inventing / launching new experiences involving multiple parties or technology ecosystems, especially mobile, voice, and or eCommerce
• Distinctive problem-solving skills combined with impeccable product instincts
