What you'll do

We are seeking a Software Engineer III professional in our Carlsbad, CA office.

Duties: Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, configures and modifies software projects and/or products or enhancements using various programming languages, technologies and development methodologies. Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements application, software and/or operating system components, software tools, and utilities; conducts performance testing. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to guarantee availability and increase efficiency. Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures. Completes technical documentation for multiple functions, including but not limited to testing, QA, training, and/or procedures for installation and maintenance. Implements and tests complex code changes to fix identified defects in existing s/w products or to add enhancements to new/future s/w releases; assists in developing design solutions. Troubleshoots complex bugs within code (within own component); may provide input into and perform actions as designated in the remediation plan. May assist in development of requirements with product management and architects; provide recommendations to enhance design to prevent recurrence of defects. Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized initiatives to come up with high level design. Independently handles/solves software/ systems monitoring issues. Assists in code deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any) or related field and 5 years of experience developing and testing highly distributed, complex web applications.

Skills required: Experience in Java programming language, J2EE. Experience in Oracle database, PL/SQL query language. Experience in Struts and Spring framework. Demonstrated knowledge of UML diagrams and JUnit test cases. Experience in JMS and IBM MQ series and build tools like Ant and Maven. Web development experience using HTML, JavaScript, JSP, XML, and XSLT. Experience with unit testing frameworks. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
