What you'll do

Communicates with internal and external partners (for example, buyers, replenishment, sourcing, suppliers) through multiple communication channels
(for example, face to face, email, phone) to drive product development initiatives by providing updates to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment
on product development initiatives; identifying potential issues during the product life-cycle; investigating causes of delay (for example, liabilities,
barriers) to ensure production timelines are met; performing root cause analysis to validate issues; recommending solutions to resolve issues;
ensuring solutions are implemented; and updating information (for example, samples, production timelines, product testing) and communicating it to
stakeholders.


Compiles research findings related to product development by performing visual in-store review of items to identify variances; conducting industry
benchmarking to identify product details and specifications (for example, construction, make, materials) and trends; communicating findings to
relevant teams; and making recommendations to senior leaders using multiple data sources (for example, market track, sales results, costing) to drive
improvements.

Provides support for the development of products through the entire product life-cycle to drive business results (for example, sales, turnover, profit) by
coordinating activities related to the development, production and delivery of quality products; reviewing and managing broad sample assortments to
drive key decisions and approvals related to the product; submitting color, product components, and aesthetics for approvals; ensuring deadlines and
key milestones related to product development are met; tracking work in progress; working cross-functionally to address issues; providing reporting
through the development, approval and production process; and communicating status of approvals to cross-functional partners (for, example,
merchants, suppliers, senior leadership).
Validates product specifications to ensure quality and customer needs are met by evaluating criteria (for example, color, weight); assessing products
against specifications; determining if products are commercially acceptable; conducting root cause analysis to identify issues with products; partnering
with suppliers to resolve specific product related issues; adjusting timelines and holding suppliers accountable; developing contingency plans; and
escalating issues to senior leadership.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and
guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and
building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business
needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on
improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, or related field OR 1 year experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or
related field.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year experience with Microsoft Office Suite (for example, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
1 year experience in manufacturing, product development, packaging, or design.
1 year experience in a retail environment.
1 year experience with creative based design software (for example, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
