Specialist, Optical Manufacturing, Support Center -
Health and Wellness
This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related
responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.

Essential Functions
Ensures optical compliance regulations needs are met by adjusting optical manufacturing parameters within American National
Institute standards; maintaining optical lifestyle dispensing and fitting process guidelines; communicating optical parameters
effectively to the vision center optician and labs; and upholding FDA standards for optical manufacturing requests and revising
errors as needed.
Enhances customer (Walmart and Sam's Club vision centers and labs) experience by researching and resolving ongoing
complex issues; following up with customers and associates; documenting customer and associate concerns and feedback;
resolving customer orders and invalid tickets; identifying data trends and communicating them; identifying and recommending
solutions to improve processes when needed; following up with Optometrist and vision centers to provide accurate information
pertaining to systems and insurance rejection concerns; and assisting in determining solutions to accommodate requests and
feedback.
Receives and responds to various optical insurance requests, evaluations from Walmart and Sam's Club vision centers, and
optical manufacturing ordering issues to ensure optical prescriptions are filled and patient visual requirements are met by
reviewing records for accuracy (for example, verifying customer information, validating prescriptions in various systems); storing
confidential customer documentation in various systems; resolving customer order and diagnostic issues; utilizing documented
processes and procedures; assisting in identifying and recommending solutions to improve processes or programs; verifying that
frames and lenses are ground to ANSI Standards (for example, frames traced correctly, location of cylinder power, Nikon safety);
verifying measurements and prescribed fit (for example, pupillary distance and segment height) virtually and adjusting
measurements as needed; altering transmission data (for example, Analyzing prescription data and adjusting the Pupillary
Distance as needed within ANSI Standards) sent to optical labs; and communicating request status and final resolutions to
customers and vision center optician.
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers,
customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating
progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and
learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using
the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Assists in managing multiple provider (for example, Medicare and third-party carriers) allocation process to ensure optical
prescriptions are billed correctly by ensuring prescription information is entered correctly in the system; determining medical
necessity; ensuring appropriate insurance plan is selected; validating guidelines from multiple insurance providers; maintaining
insurance billing lifecycle for multiple providers; calculating billing amount utilizing fee schedule and allotted deductible;
evaluating insurance forms and documents to ensure compliance; and verifying accuracy of billing data and revising errors as
needed.

Additional Qualifications

1 year experience in Shared Service environment or Contact Center (for example, call center, service help desk).
1 year general customer service experience.
1 year experience in Walmart Pharmacy or Vision Center.
