What you'll do at

The ideal candidate will be:
● Dynamic leader: Experienced hands-on technical manager who can build a quality assurance organization within the Global Data team and ensure it performs

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and technical skills to implement data quality strategy, processes and standard methodologies that improve the quality of data at Walmart
• Responsible for end to end ownership of the Global Data Quality Assurance team including setting the technical vision and development of test frameworks and automation
• Understand how all of the system software ecosystem work together and develop quality assurance approaches that fit the overall strategy
• Develop a clear understanding of the data required (type and quality) to drive business decisions and work with data stewards to align on data quality requirements
• Collaborate with internal and external organizations as needed to put together the necessary automated quality verification process to drive strategic initiatives
• Be a champion of quality and operational excellence. Establish team metrics for measurement of quality and operational excellence and a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvements
• Attract, hire, and mentor Global Data Quality Assurance team

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in data-intensive companies for high-performant, scalable and distributed data systems with focus on verification and automation
• 5+ years of experience in a hands-on automated data quality engineering role and 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Manager in a data organization
• Strong software engineering skills including experience with a modern agile development workflow using Git, unit and integration testing and CI/CD
• Strong SQL skills and NoSQL data stores (e.g. HDFS, Teradata, Cassandra, Druid), and familiarity with handling and applying analytical methods to both structured and unstructured data
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong ability to actively participate in project planning and scoping; robust experience with agile methodologies and tools
• Strong ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, lead change, and collaborate with a variety of different stakeholders
• Strong people management skills with proven ability to attract, hire, motivate and develop the best engineering talent
• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline. Master’s degree preferred
• Previous roles with leading companies in the retail industry is nice to have
