What you'll do at

Walmart is looking for an Associate Manager for our growing Customer Insights & Analytics Team! The Customer Analytics team is part of Marketing and leverages the power of Big Data, leading edge research technology, and the best talent in the industry to define and design how our company serves our customers.

As an analyst, you will have the unique opportunity to leverage the power of technology, big data and analytics to improve the lives of the 150 million customers that shop at Walmart every week. Our ideal candidate is a sharp, thoughtful, and collaborative problem solver, who enjoys identifying key business levers and challenges, and then building analytical frameworks to enable strategic decision making. You will have direct visibility with marketing leadership and will drive analytical initiatives to support the rapid growth of our online and omni-channel customer base.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and analytical background, as well as an intense hunger to make a significant business impact by owning and driving business outcomes. Strong time management and communication skills are critical.

What you’ll do
•Define and drive analyses aimed at developing a deep and holistic understanding of customer needs and behavior, business performance, growth drivers, and trends.
•Model and size new business opportunities, including in sparse data situations.
•Frame and break down complex problems into key components, analyze large datasets to drive actionable insights.
•Translate data insights into actions and recommendations that will drive brand sentiment, user growth and engagement, and marketing effectiveness.
•Develop quantitative analysis, tools, ad hoc reports, and models to support marketing decision making. Analysis areas might include (but not limited to): retention, sentiment, lifetime value, promotions, usage, and engagement.
•Produce data visualization such as charts, infographic, and dashboards to communicate findings and actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders clearly and effectively.
•Communicate key insights to senior executives.

Minimum Qualifications

•Technical educational background (e.g., math, statistics, computer science, engineering, physics) or equivalent r elated work experience.
•1-5 years of experience in Customer Analytics or related field.
•Very strong SQL skills and comfortable working with large volumes of customer data.
•You understand experimentation, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
•You are able to clearly, credibly, and compellingly present and debate recommendations with business decision makers.
•Experience finding, cleaning, and manipulating data to build data sets.
•Experience using R or Python or a similar scripting language for statistical modeling.

- Analytical background and related work experience.
- Technical skills on: SQL, R,PYTHON.
- Visualization experience: Tableau, Rshinny, ggplot.
- Good communication and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and 1 year's experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field OR 3 years' experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

•Management consulting experience or a similar career requiring one to present data-driven insights to business audiences.
•Experience developing data pipelines.
•Experience writing production code for automated models.
•Experience using open-source statistical packages such as Dplyr, ggplot, Rstudio, NumPy, Pandas.
•Basic experience or basic understanding of machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing.
- Marketing analytic experience
- Retail analytics experience

  • 1 year's experience with customer analytics in retail operations or related field.
