What you'll do at

The Senior Manager, Media Planning, reporting into the Associate Director of Growth Marketing, will support x-category and special projects’ holistic media strategy and planning. As a Media Planner, you will be responsible for translating a campaign idea into a detailed, holistic, and connected media plan that will deliver business goals.

The person who holds this position is expected to have a firm grasp of the advertising ecosystem and to be a steward of the entire planning process. You will have significant exposure to campaign strategy, tactical optimization, analytics, reporting, and broader company objectives.

You will partner with media channel teams and category marketers to produce financial and media plans, coordinate media execution, and analyze and optimize marketing vehicle executions to ensure plans are implemented to best achieve campaign performance and media efficiency goals


Responsibilities:

•Acquire comprehensive understanding of the marketing team’s overarching objectives and understand what media initiatives tie to their business goals.
•Create and operationalize e-commerce media plans based on variables like objectives/goals, audience, creative, and platform; evaluate and propose targeting, geography, scheduling, support level, and budget.
•Manage day to day plan changes/maintenance of media plans and spend vs. budget across online and offline marketing channels.
•Co-ordinate media executions and plans between stores marketing team and e-commerce marketing teams to improve overall efficacy of Walmart media dollars.
Develop and apply a working knowledge of basic media concepts, terminology, attribution models and media plan execution.
•Interface on a regular basis with category, media, and stores representatives to evaluate media plans and programming into various media vehicles.
•Analyze media performance to recommend how to best allocate (and re-allocate) media budget across marketing vehicles.
•Perform ongoing campaign analysis directly relevant to optimization and/or planning and buying decisions often using multiple sources of data.
•Work collaboratively with media teams to roll out operational and process standards for media planning for the company.

Minimum Qualifications

•5-6 years of experience in a digital marketing or media role.
•Experience in direct response marketing. Hands on knowledge of marketing disciplines: acquisition, retention, loyalty, brand, media, creative, content, product marketing and partnerships.
•Expertise in leveraging digital marketing, social, mobile, and new media to engage customers and transform brand and customer experience.
•Proven ability to work with data to understand and analyze performance, optimize plans, make quick decisions and measure impact to the business.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a high attention to detail.
•Risk-taker, comfortable in fast-paced environment; go-getter, capable of managing multiple projects, priorities.
•BA/BS degree with strong academic record preferred, or equivalent related work experience.
•Minimal Travel required, approximately once per quarter.


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and 3 years' experience in marketing or related field OR 5 years' experience in marketing or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years marketing experience in a consumer packaged goods or retail environment.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration.
