What you'll do at

Drives best practices for construction and new distribution center design by collaborating with corporate governance, engineering and design teams to
ensure best practices are identified and implemented; and collaborating with internal partners (for example, Distribution Center Operations,
International Logistics) to strategize construction and new distribution center prototypes.
Identifies and assesses project risks (for example, corporate governance, compliance policies, timelines) by analyzing root causes; providing
guidance for action plans; escalating significant risks to appropriate leadership level; managing project tasks and timelines to decrease the impact of
risks; communicating impact of the risks to the project team; and driving completion of corrective action plans.
Manages multiple distribution center (DC) projects (for example, new DCs, major repairs, expansions, Sam's Club DCs) by developing capital
expenditure requests; identifying internal or external partners; collaborating with the design team to create a prototype appropriate to the project;
ensuring project plans are compliant with all applicable federal, state and local codes and regulations; soliciting bids, analyzing bids, and awarding
contracts; collaborating with Information Systems Division (ISD) to gather DC information technology requirements; collaborating with business
partners for securing required site property; purchasing equipment and managing costs within the approved budget; ensuring satisfactory completion
of project deliverables; and providing ongoing support to site locations.
Manages program cost and timelines by integrating project objectives (for example, scope, budget, schedule) into the project plan; developing action
plans for maintaining project objectives; setting expectations for business partners (for example, Distribution Center Operations, Warehouse
Administration); collaborating on best practices with cross-functional partners; recommending changes to standard processes to improve project
delivery; and determining and acquiring resources necessary for the execution of the project plan.
Manages total capital expense spending for projects by creating and tracking target budgets throughout project lifecycle; identifying and incorporating
areas of cost reduction into the project plan; managing change requests with business partners; requesting approval from leadership for spending or
timeline overages; communicating schedules and updates to business partners; evaluating and minimizing the budgetary impact of change orders
and project scope modifications; approving and tracking vendors and stakeholder spending throughout the project lifecycle; and monitoring other
functions' project capital expense spending for potential impact to overall project budget.
Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business
plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring
progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work
environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching
for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to
others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with bus

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 3 years experience in engineering, construction management or
related field OR 7 years experience in engineering, construction management, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
