What you'll do at

Manages fleet Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance by ensuring required training is developed and delivered for drivers, managers, and
hourly associates; auditing compliance and record keeping processes (for example, Reportable Accident Reports) of Field and Regional Safety
Managers; developing individual driver reports from the Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) database to identify high risk drivers; and
communicating results of driver reports to Field and Regional Safety Managers.
Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects for fleet compliance by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and
communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance
standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting
continuous learning.
Manages Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) specifications and compliance, including underground storage tank (UST) requirements, by
partnering with third-party consultant groups on UST and fuel island issues to address remediation strategies; ensuring hazardous waste manifests
are maintained on shipments generated from truck maintenance garages (TMG); and ensuring timely submission of federal and state reports from
field locations.
Manages new safety technology testing and program development by ensuring new products are tested on a control group of drivers; collecting and
evaluating feedback from test drivers; determining return on investment; providing recommendations to senior leadership for equipment specifications
and technology enhancements; and analyzing safety risks and developing programs to eliminate risks.
Developing and coordinating policies and programs related to hazardous materials (HazMat) regulations by collaborating with cross-functional teams
to manage the movement of hazardous materials in both forward and reverse logistics operations to ensure compliance with Pipeline and Hazardous
Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA); ensuring record keeping requirements are met for inbound and outbound shipments in Private Fleet; and
ensuring policies are created to support standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to HazMat transportation.
Manages compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards in truck maintenance garages (TMG), in Transportation
offices, and amongst drivers by developing and conducting review tools and processes to ensure compliance; reviewing and preparing response
reports for OSHA onsite results; implementing plan to eliminate hazards identified in internal and OSHA audits; and ensuring on-the-job injuries are
properly documented and investigated.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work
environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching
for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to
others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business
partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and costeffectiveness;
and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics management or related field and 3 years experience in transportation safety or
related field OR 6 years experience in transportation safety or related field.
3 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in environmental management or related field.
5 years experience working with transportation industry organizations and/or related governmental organizations
