What you'll do at

The Merchandise Solutions team leads strategic performance improvement initiatives in support of the broader merchandising function at Sam’s Club. These initiatives encompass a wide array of capabilities, ranging from technology solutions to scaled in-market concept testing.

The Senior Manager will develop strategy and technology solutions that improve performance across the company’s merchant functions with a particular focus on assortment, space, supply chain and replenishment, and pricing. She/ he will lead cross-functional teams composed of associates from merchandising, product management, suppliers, engineering, data science, and external vendors. She/ he will act as both a thought-leader for, and partner to, these teams, leveraging analytical reasoning and creativity to drive step-change advancements in merchandising execution.

Act as thought-partner to merchandising business partners including the Chief Merchants, GMMs, DMMs, and Senior Merchants across a wide array of strategic and tactical issues
Employ collaborative leadership style and persuasive communication skills to establish credibility with merchant business partners while driving transformational change
Develop fit-for-purpose frameworks to disaggregate and analyze complex business issues independently with minimal guidance and oversight
Leverage robust quantitative skills to construct data-driven models using disparate sources, synthesize insights, and recommend pragmatic actions; expert-proficiency in Excel
Apply logical reasoning and attention-to-detail to build defect-free, project deliverables; expert-proficiency in PPT
Lead cross-functional project teams comprised of data science, engineering, product management, and merchants to develop and deploy transformational technology tools that improve performance and execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading a cross-functional team.
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration or related field and 3 years' experience in project management or relevant area OR 5 years experience in project management or relevant area.
