What you'll do at

The Manager of Product Development is new role to Walmart.com and one that gives the associate a great opportunity to be part of a growing team that is forging a new path and process as to how we drive private label growth within the entertainment division. This person should have a working understanding of how to develop product from concept to execution and what is required to manage and hit timelines within a product life cycle. Ideally this person would have experience in hardlines as well as softlines and be very familiar with materials, construction and product development vernacular. This person needs to be very process and detail oriented. This person will be instrumental in developing strong processes, partnerships and integration with our store counterparts to gain alignment and leverage resources. This person needs to be extremely collaborative with strong people skills and the ability to manage politics with grace. This role may require the associate to be able to travel both domestically and internationally. We are looking for someone with a start-up and agile thinking mentality that approaches ambiguity and change with a positive attitude and tireless approach.
  • Creates, manages, and executes new feature and product development roadmaps
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in the Walmart.com merchandising/services area and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans
  • Ensures the alignment of multiple cross-functional teams to ensure the achievement of business objectives
  • Manages products, services, and operations (for example, store execution, customer service, fulfillment timeliness, service level agreement (SLA) compliance) for assigned business areas
  • Manages the placement of products and services with drop-ship vendors (DSVs)
  • Manages the product or service assortment and delivery channels
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions

Minimum Qualifications

5 plus years’ experience in merchandising, product development or a related business
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
Ability to think strategically but also execute on a tactical level
Experience managing direct reports
Passion for product
Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in sourcing product from manufacturers
Project Management experience
Experience in eCommerce
