In our team, the ability to simplify and to jump between product management, modeling, and programming is critical.
Primary job responsibilities are to design, develop and maintain predictive statistical models and strategies for Walmart Online Grocery. This role also offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve on ways that leverage, Walmart Stores and the interphase between physical and digital. In a normal day you might be:

" Designing, developing and managing real-time predictive models for payment risk, and other business use cases.
" Preparing and extracting data from large databases.
" Analyzing data covering a wide range of information from user profile, network links and transaction history. Identifying new behavior patterns through data mining and machine learning.
" For each modeling project, design its best structure and selecting the most appropriate modeling technique which may include a combination of several modeling techniques like logistic regression, clustering algorithms, collaborative filtering algorithms, decision trees and neural networks.
" Analyzing model performance and communicating model design and performance results to senior management.
" Working with product managers and engineering in deploying models.
" Providing on-going performance tracking reports and managing model related issues continually.

Minimum Qualifications

" M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or other quantitative, engineering area is required
" 3+ years of experience in statistical data analysis and predictive modeling using statistical tools like R, SAS, or Python
" Experience in analyzing massive and highly complex data sets, performing ad-hoc analysis and data manipulation
" A passion for excellence in analytics
" A can-do attitude to carry out a project from design to production on a timely basis
" Great communication skills, strong project management skills and teamwork, and superb attention to details
" Proficiency in, SQL, Hive and UNIX is required
" Spark/Scala experience and knowledge of algorithm design principles is desired.
