Position: Senior Manager, Business Strategy
Job Location: 702 SW 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72716
Duties: Manages the resolution of business issues by reviewing data; determining needed solutions that fit local needs and can be leveraged across the region; following up with stakeholders to obtain information on unresolved issues; and collaborating with cross-functional teams regarding support for solutions. Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Drives change initiatives by identifying and defining desired change and processes; validating value and priority; driving project plans to implement processes; assessing readiness for change; managing expectations; adjusting approaches to have change adopted by the entire organization; and ensuring timely project management from pilot to the execution stage. Manages the development and implementation of process improvements to improve business results by overseeing evaluation and execution of multiple projects; directing in consultation with leadership regarding solutions; reviewing reports; leveraging customer and operational needs across the division to identify barriers and obstacles that impact performance across the division; and benchmarking competitors' programs. Provides recommendations to senior management by reviewing feedback; assessing risks; collaborating with cross-functional partners to develop program enhancements; managing the reporting and communication of key performance metrics; ensuring alignment across functional units; and communicating strategic direction to key stakeholders. Directs the development, prioritization, and execution of key business strategies and communication by leading cross-functional initiatives that impact store and corporate processes; overseeing evaluation and execution of multiple projects; directing in consultation with leadership regarding solutions; reviewing reports; leveraging customer and operational needs across the division to identify barriers and obstacles that impact performance across the division; and benchmarking competitors' programs.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field plus 4 years of experience in retail merchandising, operations management or related experience OR 6 years of experience in retail merchandising, operations management or related experience.
Skills required: Must have experience with: SQL Coding, including pulling data together from different tables to analyze impact of innovation initiatives and refine business strategies; Tableau Dashboard to build visualizations to analyze trends and anticipate disruptions to keep processes running or reduce bottlenecks, convey business insights to leadership using visuals (trend chart, histogram, waterfall charts or other graphical analyses); Python Scripting to extract data from different data sources, cleansing and transforming it into a consistent format, helping driving data accuracy reliability; Advanced Excel Analysis to perform ad-hoc analyses required to analyze business processes and summarize insights to design/ refine business strategies; Exploratory Analysis to identify patterns within data, to understand how variables are related, to spot anomalies, to test hypothesis and to check assumptions using summary statistics and validate business cases; guiding project teams on which criteria should be focused on during design and implementation phases; Data Quality Validation to make sure data used to design business strategies meets predefined criteria and standards before it is processed; Data Processing including collecting raw data around different business processes, checking for errors, duplication, miscalculations and transforming into suitable form for analysis; Data Insights, including knowledge gained using different data analytics techniques such as descriptive analytics, prescriptive analytics, data visualization to the leadership, recommending strategy changes, redesigning / defining a path forward to take initiatives to the success; and Stakeholder engagement including collaborating with key business partners (data and analytics, tech, product, business) to develop business cases, OKRs, review data needed to define success through KPIs, update stakeholders on project status, value tracking, facilitate meetings between stakeholders, and send out project/ program update read outs to leadership highlighting success, risks and key update.
