Senior Planner I, Merchandising, Supply Chain Forecasting

What you'll do at

Leads team members in the planning and execution of the category team's financial plan by ensuring consistency in planning processes; applying best practices across category teams; preparing aggregate category team budgets; prioritizing projects and making tradeoffs in projects across subcategories to meet overall budget commitments; and providing guidance for making store-specific distributions. Ensures financial metrics on the category team profit and loss are met by reviewing annual, monthly, weekly, and daily projections against actual results; preparing financial analyses and reports to understand and explain business trends and performance; providing insight on how key inputs are used in inventory and margin forecasts, decision-making, and month-end recaps; requesting revision of assortment decisions if financials are inconsistent with established plans; and communicating recommended actions needed to meet budgets or improve profitability to category team leaders and other stakeholders. Implements the category team's financial strategy by ensuring alignment with the portfolio strategy; attending meetings with suppliers; modeling, analyzing, and evaluating the impact of key variables on category performance and risk exposure; developing and presenting options to address issues in financial performance; reviewing and analyzing financial results of modular changes; identifying discrepancies in financial results; and ensuring modular assortment mix aligns with financial goals of the category. Manages the category team's inventory plans by monitoring markdown budgets; compiling, reviewing, and approving markdown proposals; ensuring markdown requests are within budget; developing prioritized markdown recommendations for category team leaders when markdowns exceed established budgets; partnering with replenishment teams to align category team inventory and turn plans; and preparing inventory projections.
