What you'll do... It’s exciting time to join our Walmart journey. We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to work and partner with teams to build Machine Learning models in Finance Data Factory team within Finance Technology. Job summary: Work with a team of data scientist and software engineers to develop and deploy Anomaly detection and predictive models on a data platform. Build state-of-art models by training with massive amount of Walmart data utilizing open-source or in-house tools.
Our team works closely with different segments of finance business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation.

- Collaborate closely with business teams to identify opportunities and translate requirements into innovative technical solutions.
- Lead the design and development of generative AI solutions, utilizing established techniques and creating custom algorithms when necessary.
- Work closely with engineers and platform architects to integrate and deploy robust ML applications and systems.
- Stay at the forefront of data science and machine learning advancements by continuously exploring and evaluating new technologies and methodologies.
- Conduct advanced analyses to provide recommendations on the applicability and efficiency of product features.
- Strong knowledge of retail and one or more business practices across domains such as product, finance, marketing, technology, and business systems.
- Big Data processing and feature engineering
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with large dataset mining tools and open-source programming tools (e.g., R, Python).
- Expertise in solving optimization problems using integer programming.
- Ability to deconstruct abstract problems, formulate hypotheses, and conduct detailed analyses.
- Experience navigating ambiguity and building rapid business cases/prototypes.
- Hands-on experience with analytics and reporting tools such as Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery), Microsoft Azure, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
- Time series forecasting, anomaly detection, LLM tuning, using sound statistical and deep learning methods.
- Deployment of machine learning models to cloud platforms to serve internal customers at scale.
- Experience in Technical Solutions Architecture and design leadership.
- Experience using Javascript, HTML/CSS, ReactJs or next.js
- Strong Java, Spring framework, Kafka, SQL and cloud experience such as Azure.
- Strong experience in RESTful Microservices
- Container technologies such as Docker on Kubernetes
- Strong API design, development, and management
- Experience with cloud native technology, CI/CD (KITT)
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs

- You’re writing and developing code; conducting unit testing, communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders, collaborating with project team and cross functional teams.
- Effectively translating requirements into solutions while working with agility.
- Helping cross-functional teams to solve for business problems and develop solutions that enable us to redefine a “best-in-class” customer experience.
- Encouraging the teams that you oversee to work collaboratively and to aim for insight-driven outcomes.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
