Director, Learning & Development, Product, Certifications, and Learning Platforms Role SummaryThe Director, Learning & Development: Product, Certifications, and Learning Platforms is a strategic leader responsible for driving Walmart Connect’s learning strategy across three critical verticals; product education, certification, and technology ecosystem. This role ensures Walmart Connect’s Associates, Agencies, and Partners are equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to succeed, driving adoption, capability, and measurable business impact. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Training, Education & Development, this role ensures learning programs and platforms are scalable, data-driven, and business-aligned, transforming learning into a competitive advantage for Walmart Connect. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Alignment
- Lead the vision, strategy, and execution for Product Training, Certifications, and Learning Platform management.
- Align learning initiatives with Walmart Connect’s go-to-market (GTM) priorities, ensuring readiness across internal teams and external audiences.
- Drive measurable business outcomes by linking learning initiatives to key performance indicators (e.g., product adoption, advertiser spend, sales enablement, and partner satisfaction).
- Collaborate with TED’s vertical leaders (Associate Development, Sales Development, and Governance) to ensure alignment, consistency, and scalability of all learning initiatives.
- Develop and oversee go-to-market (GTM) training plans for product launches and updates, ensuring internal teams (sales, account management, partner success) are equipped to confidently communicate and sell Walmart Connect’s solutions.
- Create and maintain role-based learning pathways that evolve from foundational knowledge to advanced omni-channel expertise.
- Partner with Product Marketing to ensure training reflects product strategy, positioning, and value proposition.
- Build multi-modal training programs (ILT, vILT, eLearning, simulations, and video) designed for engagement, retention, and on-the-job application.
- Lead and grow Walmart Connect Academy, establishing it as an industry-recognized center for education and certification.
- Oversee certification program design, assessments, and continuous updates to reflect new products, campaign workflows, and market best practices.
- Develop tiered certification frameworks (101/201/301) for advertisers, agencies, and internal associates to ensure progressive mastery of Walmart Connect’s tools.
- Align internal enablement programs with external certifications to ensure consistent standards, language, and learner outcomes.
- Partner with external vendors and localization teams to expand Academy reach and ensure accessibility, quality, and compliance.
- Measure certification impact through data, tracking adoption, learner engagement, advertiser ROI, and product retention.
- Lead the strategy, management, and optimization of Walmart Connect’s learning technology ecosystem, including the LMS and analytics tools.
- Ensure platform functionality, integrations and data flow support both internal associates and external partners.
- Collaborate with Walmart Global Tech and enterprise learning teams to align external and internal platform capabilities, ensuring a unified learning experience.
- Research, evaluate, and implement emerging learning technologies (AI coaching, adaptive learning, skill practice tools, gamification) to enhance retention and personalization.
- Develop dashboards and insights that measure learner engagement, certification progress, and business impact, using analytics to inform strategy.
- Ensure all platforms and content comply with data security, privacy, and accessibility (WCAG) standards.
- Define clear success metrics for all learning programs and platforms, linking adoption, engagement, and certification data to business KPIs such as campaign performance, advertiser spend, and partner retention.
- Partner with Learning Analytics team to design unified dashboards for tracking learning effectiveness across all verticals.
- Use insights to refine learning strategies, ensuring continuous improvement, higher ROI, and stronger alignment with business goals.
- Present performance metrics and learning ROI to senior leadership, influencing investment and strategic decisions.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Product Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Partner Management, HR, and Technology teams to align education programs with business priorities and GTM initiatives.
- Collaborate with TED vertical leaders to ensure consistent learner experience, messaging, and data reporting across internal and external programs.
- Act as the primary liaison between Walmart Connect Academy, Global Tech, and enterprise learning functions to align technology systems and data.
- Build strong relationships with external partners and vendors to support program scalability, translation, and delivery.
- Lead a team of program managers, learning experience designers, technologists, and platform specialists.
- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and accountability, empowering the team to experiment, iterate, and deliver high-quality learning experiences.
- Coach and develop team members to enhance cross-functional collaboration, technical expertise, and business acumen.
- Serve as a visible learning advocate, championing Walmart Connect’s learning ecosystem both internally and externally.
- 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Product Education, or Partner Enablement, including experience with digital learning platforms and ad tech certification programs.
- Strong understanding of ad tech, digital marketing, or retail media ecosystems.
- Proven ability to design and scale certification programs for external partners and agencies.
- Hands-on experience with LMS/LXP management, content authoring tools, and analytics platforms (Cornerstone, Docebo, Intellum, Articulate, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated success using learning analytics and performance data to drive continuous improvement and business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Education, Business, or related field preferred.
- Certifications in Learning Technology, Instructional Design, or Program Management (CPTD, Kirkpatrick, PMP, or similar) a plus.
- Growth in internal and external product fluency across Walmart Connect.
- Expansion of Walmart Connect Academy certifications and partner participation.
- Demonstrated correlation between learning and key business outcomes (advertiser spend, product adoption, retention, and campaign ROI).
- Measurable improvement in learner engagement and satisfaction scores.
- Scalable learning platform infrastructure supporting both internal and external audiences.
- Positive stakeholder feedback.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
