Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and forward-thinking Principal Software Engineer to join FDF Sam’s team and lead the development of scalable, intelligent data solutions. This role blends traditional data engineering with cutting-edge AI capabilities to support advanced analytics, forecasting, and operational reporting in a multi-cloud retail environment. You will work on designing/building robust data models, data pipelines, deploying AI-powered workflows, and integrating agentic systems to drive business outcomes.

What You Will Do

Understand and translate business needs into data models that support long-term solutions. 

Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy. Understand the existing ecosystem and optimize the data flows and reduce duplicate pipelines and datasets enabling single source of truth of data.

Work with development teams to implement data strategies and build data flows. Maintain and update models as needed. 

Establish and enforce standards and procedures for data management and integrity. 

Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using PySpark, Apache Spark, and Airflow for orchestration.

Develop and deploy workflows on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Dataproc, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.

Implement multi-cloud data architectures integrating Azure, GCP, and Snowflake for data lakes and warehouses.

Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance using tools like Apache Hudi, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support retail analytics, forecasting, and operational reporting.

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability across environments.

Build and deploy RAG-based AI solutions for intelligent document retrieval and contextual response generation.

Integrate LangChain and LangGraph frameworks to orchestrate complex AI workflows and multi-agent systems.

Develop Agentic AI capabilities to automate decision-making and enhance data-driven insights.

Leverage Vertex AI, Cloud Functions, and Dataflow to operationalize machine learning models and AI agents.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adopt new digital tools and methodologies.

What You Will Bring

Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and shell scripting.

Hands-on experience with GCP services: Dataproc, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI.

Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and multi-cloud orchestration.

Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps.

Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.

Practical experience with LangChain, LangGraph, RAG architectures, and Agentic AI systems.

Knowledge of retail domain data flows and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

12+ years of experience in data engineering/software engineering, with at least 4 years on GCP.

Demonstrated ability to work with integrity, respect for individuals, and a customer-first mindset.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
