As a Software Engineer/Performance Engineer part of Sam's Club, you will be responsible for performing the tasks of assigned engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples. What you'll do:
- We are looking for a Software Engineer/Performance Engineer who love code and performance & chaos testing
- Design and develop new applications and tools using Java, Spring Boot framework, React.js/Node.js technologies.
- Own end-to-end product performance through design, launch, and operation - understand architecture design, requirements, and help support on-going releases with aim of achieving high performance quality.
- Debug server-side performance issues, identify bottlenecks throughout the entire stack and optimize product/service performance to improve user experience.
- Effectively collaborate and communicate for better performance governance across all teams to improve code base performance and present findings to them
- Proactively investigate site performance issues in production and work cross functionally to validate resolutions.
- Provide visibility to what is going on for allotted multi-tier application: Run performance and capacity experiments to determine scaling and utilization parameters for various front-end and back-end service tiers.
What you'll bring:
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, performance engineering role for customer-facing solutions in large-scale systems, preferably in e-commerce or retail.
- Hand-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot framework, React & Node.js, automation tools, performance analysis, web services, and REST.
- Expertise in Apache JMeter, Gatling, Locust, Splunk/Open Observe, Grafana, Dynatrace, and APM tools.
- Skills in debugging, monitoring, and optimizing cloud platform infrastructure and services.
- Experience with performance benchmarking for large-scale applications on Kubernetes platforms.
- Knowledge of technologies for building scalable, distributed systems in cloud environments and understanding of performance trade-offs.
- Proficiency in DevOps for troubleshooting and improving applications performance.
- Experience with databases (Relational and NoSQL) and caching solutions.
- Knowledge of technologies used in building scalable, distributed systems in virtualized cloud-like environments and respective performance trade-offs.
- Solid DevOps skills in troubleshooting live applications, assessing performance bottlenecks of applications running on Linux.
- Knowledge with general Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
- Willing to take new initiatives and work with minimal supervision.
- Be a thinker, help in finding performance bottlenecks, debug to get RCA and provide working solutions
- Prefer bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, and software engineering

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
