What you'll do at

Performs supply chain analysis on merchandising, replenishment, supplier, and innovations initiated projects by establishing communication with the customer to define the requirements and scope of the project; gathering ship point, replenishment, distribution, pricing, and freight term information from the customer and suppliers; consolidating information and developing models to optimize supply chain based on current and forecast item demand; providing results of the analysis; reworking the logistics model to apply any additional business constraints from the customer; providing final recommendations based on supply chain modeling and analysis; maintaining communication with customer to monitor implementation progress and providing additional support; and reporting project implementation and projected financial impact results. Manages projects by communicating analysis findings and implications with project stakeholders (for example, Merchandising, Transportation, Distribution, Private Fleet, Replenishment, Global Procurement, Direct Imports, Warehouse Administration) to determine feasibility; organizing, facilitating, and directing cross-functional meetings in person and by conference call; preparing a results document that lays out the findings of the project; and monitoring and sharing project status to applicable functional areas. Supports continuous improvement and development of processes, decision support tools, and cost modeling applications by monitoring similar groups of supply chain analysis projects; developing improved procedures; developing and maintaining technical proficiency; and identifying new data mining methods to uncover the most efficient means of capturing the scope of a given supply chain while validating the authenticity and accuracy of the data. Provides supply chain training and support by advocating and communicating supply chain concepts and their implementation across areas of the business, including the merchant group and other cross-functional areas; presenting supply chain theory and concepts in a classroom and conference room setting; maintaining structured presentations and developing new material to meet the educational needs of the audience ranging from traffic labs hosted for internal Walmart associates to supplier summits aimed at supply chain collaboration; and teaching and training other associates on how to effectively apply new tools that are being brought into the business. Develops tools to support and maintain the business by building analytical tools for modeling purposes using Microsoft Excel, Access, and other optimization software; researching external tools available on the market; and analyzing the initiative's impact to the business based on the output of the tool.
