What you'll do at

Manages inventory by projecting future flow; collaborating with key stakeholders (for example, merchants, suppliers) on new items, pods, features, cartrails, and new Clubs; collaborating with Planner to forecast and flow import and domestic items; sourcing additional product on a regional basis when limited availability interrupts flow throughout the network; directing import process; using multiple systems to research and determine repack quantities and orders from import facility to destination distribution centers; communicating the status of the import plan to key stakeholders (for example, direct import, Merchandising, Logistics, third-party import facilities); and determining cost-effective ways to flow product from import facilities to distribution centers. Assists in driving financial accountability for meeting company goals by guiding and collaborating with team and key stakeholders (for example, merchants, Planners, suppliers) to deliver sales, profit, turns, in-stock, and stock keeping units (SKUs); managing in-stock, margin, sales, turns, shrink, and inventory at club and distribution center levels; identifying and researching ways to drive costs out of the supply chain; managing daily item profit and loss (P&L)statement; developing action plans to adjust flow of inventory; securing additional product to cover shortages; negotiating pricing in the absence of buyers; and planning truck loads with multiple suppliers' products and Walmart items at multiple ship points to minimize freight cost. Balances financial targets (for example, in-stock, margin, sales, turns, stock keeping units, supply chain savings) for multiple categories by identifying shortfalls; developing and communicating corrective action plans across categories; providing direction to the Inventory Coordinators; following up to ensure execution of action plans; executing special events (for example, catalog, transitions, features, new clubs) through the reservation and deployment of appropriate goods and monitoring of receipts; leading the resolution of challenges in meeting inventory requirements; verifying the placement of purchase orders for necessary inventory; and working with the merchant and allocation teams to handle any supply issues. Leads and optimizes current and future processes to drive savings by identifying inefficiencies in supply chain processes (for example, order strategy, logistics, supplier constraints); collaborating with key stakeholders (for example, Logistics, Transportation, Merchandising, Planning, suppliers) to develop action plans; ensuring proper implementation of plans; and ensuring improvement in process plans to achieve higher return on investment (ROI); developing working knowledge of each division to understand how decisions impact other areas in the company; and building support for initiatives to improve execution. Manages inventory for complex categories (for example, volume, visibility, risk exposure) by ensuring optimal inventory flow; ensuring proper planning for seasonality, transitions, and special events; ensuring consistency in inventory process; collaborating with business partners to identify inefficiencies; making recommendations to senior leaders to ensure improvement of inventory flow; and developing and creating demand flow plans with suppliers and other business partners; holding suppliers accountable to achieve goals; collaborating with suppliers to improve supply chain productivity; and supervising supplier-managed programs. Plans, implements, and directs the allocation process for multiple categories for event execution, order strategy, inventory flow, receipt planning, in-stock, and forecasting by identifying potential issues; establishing task priorities; ensuring accountability for individual projects; developing, implementing, and evaluating new procedures to improve efficiency; developing pre-emptive and contingency plans; collaborating with key stakeholders; and overseeing the execution of inventory placement.
