Directs the systems and business process priorities by collaborating with cross functional strategy managers to understand corporate and business initiatives; prioritizing and ensuring alignment of Transportation systems and business processes to corporate, supply chain, and operational initiatives; and influencing strategic direction of priorities based on emerging industry trends.
Evaluates third-party providers for potential engagements by reviewing third-party applications and services to determine if they meet the business needs; engaging in price and contract negotiations for products and services; and reviewing data to determine impact to transportation systems and to make recommendations for senior leadership approval.
Provides strategic analysis support by working with internal and external business partners to identify opportunities to automate manual processes, increase the automation of partially automated processes, or to develop new solutions to installed automation systems; collaborating with business partners to evaluate the impact of supply chain initiatives on installed systems and systemic processes; shadowing and engaging in process flow studies of systems users to evaluate the need for systems business process changes; reviewing and improving cost benefit analyses to determine the cost effectiveness of implementing new systems solutions versus continuing the use of in-service solutions; and working closely with business strategy teams to ensure operational goals are evaluated in accordance with policies and procedures for potential systems impact and develop systems strategies to align with operational strategies.
Manages products by gathering requirements for new systems and system enhancements through interviews, job shadowing, surveys, and customer initiated feedback; developing and determining the strategic direction of systems product; documenting the business justification and return on investment for the project; creating or approving user interface designs to ensure compliance with common look and feel standards and usability; providing leadership and guidance to the teams regarding development and testing of applications in development to ensure the business objectives are met; writing business requirements documents to support systems projects; developing process flow maps for systems changes; and managing roll-out or launch of new applications, products, or enhancements.ts.
