ABOUT THE ROLE

The Copywriter is responsible for creating, editing and proofreading all fashion product content online.  They will focus on optimizing product details to maximize conversion rate and minimize returns.  You will build strong partnerships with photo studio cross functional partners, retail, and technology, removing roadblocks to ensure a flawless customer experience.  Customer and fashion obsession is a must with a focus on consistently innovating and raising the bar on customer experience. 

The ideal candidate will be experienced, detail oriented, organized, and will demonstrate comfort with ambiguity. A positive attitude is a must with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will possess the ability to succeed with minimal guidance and be skilled at anticipating problems and resolving them. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The studio is fast-paced environment. A strong focus and sense of urgency is required along with the following skills.  The ideal candidate will execute on the following:

  • Write, proofread and edit all item page product copy ensuring accurate spelling, grammar, formatting, clarity and legal compliance
  • Stay up to date on SEO best practices and continuously elevate internal and external copy standards to develop winning SEO strategies across all devices
  • Lead, encourage and innovate new ideas to stay ahead of competition and stand out in our product copy and execution
  • Define enhancements to current systems and partner with cross functional teams to implement
  • Coordinate, complete and oversee job-related activities and assignments
  • Utilize and leverage Walmart eCommerce content guidelines, style guides and item set-up procedures
  • Work with studio workflow management tools
  • Identify and resolve roadblocks in the workflow
  • Frequent meetings with team to gain their feedback so they can continue to learn and improve
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional business partners as well as vendors and third-parties that facilitate the item set-up process

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE (QUALIFICATION)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Advertising or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in eCommerce fashion copywriting or content management preferred
  • 3+ years of SEO experience
  • Exceptional communication skills and excellent written English including spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous approach to work and an obsessive eye for detail
  • Experience meeting tight deadlines and multitasking many projects simultaneously
  • A proactive attitude with a positive outlook with an eye toward increasing efficiency
  • Able to embrace collaboration, change and creativity
  • Ability to work within deadlines, thinking creatively to increase productivity and throughput
  • Results driven and a sense of urgency
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to perform under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and the ability to quickly learn internal systems
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work within deadlines, thinking creatively to increase productivity and throughput
