About the Job 

The Instructional Designer position is responsible for designing and developing training materials for our rapidly growing Member Services department. This position is responsible for developing eLearning courses, presentation materials, and instruction manuals under the direction of the training manager. 

Responsibilities and Job Functions 

  • Develop and maintain instructional materials as assigned, including lesson plans, facilitator guides, eLearning courseware, presentations, worksheets, etc. 
  • Conduct needs analysis to assess learning requirements (determine target audience, identify learning goals, and create course learning objectives) 
  • Collaborate with SMEs to develop high quality online, blended, and instructor-led course material 
  • Create outlines, storyboards, scripts, job aids, video and audio, activities, quizzes, and other deliverables 
  • Assist in coordinating the activities of the training classes, including systems setup, data tracking, and feedback sessions 
  • Assist in the delivery of training materials and management of training classes, as needed 
  • Work with content, instructional developers, and trainers to ensure that training content meets identified gaps and training requirements 
  • Keep current on trends and technologies in the eLearning and Development industry 
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to existing training content 
  • Be a promoter of Jet, Member Services, and the training vision and values 

About You 

  • 4 years of experience in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field 
  • Functional and technical skills, including: 
  • Proficient experience using Captivate, Camtasia, or other eLearning tools 
  • Proficient experience developing eLearning courseware 
  • Experience with image editing software (e.g., Photoshop, SnagIt) 
  • Strong technical writing and editing experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience using common computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Would prefer experience with LMS and knowledge based system (e.g., Jive and Bridge) 
  • Demonstrated project management skills; ability to multi-task projects and meet deadlines 
  • Strong ability to work within a team environment 
  • Ability to innovate, learn, and adjust training experiences to meet the needs of the position 
  • A high degree of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking 
  • Strong business partner who seeks out networking opportunities 
  • Fast pace environment, quick turnaround , and the ability to work under pressure 
  • Actively seeks feedback on how training is understood, and applies feedback to continuously improve training programs 
  • Ability to coach and be coached
