What you'll do at

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

Duties: Work with world-class technologists and product visionaries as a contributing member of the @WalmartLabs core engineering team. Work with Java and big data technologies to design and develop high-performance and scalable applications for use within the @Services & @Platform product ecosystem. Help the team leverage and contribute to open source software whenever possible. Be responsible for laying the foundation for Walmart’s future global platform as well as proposing solutions to ease software development, monitoring of software, etc. Develop innovation strategies, processes, and best practices. Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects. Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects. Assist the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level designs. Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Troubleshoot business and production issues. Utilize industry research to improve Walmart's technology environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and 2 years of experience building scalable ecommerce applications or mobile software; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and 5 years of experience building scalable ecommerce applications or mobile software.

Skills required: Experience with Spring. Experience with and focus on Core Java. Demonstrated knowledge of Python programming language. Experience with Apache Storm. Hadoop and REST Services experience. Node.js experience. Tomcat experience. Experience with Distributed Systems. JSON and GitHub experience. Maven experience. Algorithm and Problem Solving Skills. Experience with JavaScript. Experience with Junit. Employer will accept any amount of academic coursework, research experience or professional experience with the required skills.
