What you'll do at

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Mobile Platform professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

Duties: Be part of application platform/framework team, which builds and maintains frameworks and libraries that form a foundation of technology that is used by both the web and native feature teams throughout Walmart e-Commerce. Help build a React Native platform that can scale to the size of Walmart.com’s mobile needs. Code the React Native platform, which means developing in React Native and associated native language depending on platform (Java). Contribute to the vision, roadmap, and open source plan for all applications, libraries, modules, and tools built. Support application teams that are migrating to our platform: that could mean training them, helping them debug, etc. Debug and do root cause analysis of critical business and production issues. Ensure business needs are being met and our organization is successful. Explore opportunities to mentor junior members of the team. This position does not supervise employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 3 years of mobile experience building scalable ecommerce applications.

Skills required: Experience in object-oriented design and Java. Demonstrated knowledge of Android SDK. Experience with Java Script and Node. Experience with React Native platform. Experience with Android Studio and Gradle tooling. Experience in Unit and Automation Testing (Junit, Jest, Espresso). Experience with CI tools Jenkins, CircleCI. Experience using REST API’s. Experience with version control systems. Experience working with the NDK. Experience with developing highly scalable and performant applications, libraries, modules, tools, i.e. mitigate memory leaks, optimize binary size, optimize CPU utilization. Demonstrated understanding of data structures, and algorithms. Experience with web best practices such as A/B testing, test coverage. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
