What you'll do

We are seeking a Software Engineer III professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

Duties: Develop and maintain the next generation horizontally scalable in-memory engine with emphasis on data freshness, real-time querying, distributed consistency, fault-tolerance, and resource-efficiency. Maintain and improve the database layer which includes application-level database object and derived data-structure caching. Tackle across-the-board performance issues, working with other teams to find solutions to reduce load and improving scalability. Monitor, analyze, and collect data about real user experience times and system performance, implementing/enhancing tools and/or services as needed. Maintain and enhance capacity plans based on projected user volumes and drive infrastructure upgrades to meet capacity. Implement and enhance performance stress testing tools and/or services, assist engineers in performing tests as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.

Skills required: Experience in programming languages such as Java, HTML/CSS, JSP, Python. Experience working on Database management system such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL and JDBC with large amounts of data. Demonstrated knowledge of Distributed Systems and cloud computing. Experience building applications using frameworks like Spring. Experience with Eclipse or other IDE development tools. Demonstrated knowledge of REST Web Services. Experience in developing solution from inception to production release. Demonstrated knowledge of debugging, profiling, and system performance. Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop and MapReduce. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
