What you'll do

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.


Duties: Responsible for design and implementation of front-end application system components, high performance eCommerce platform in a Java/J2EE and Oracle environment. Responsibilities span eCommerce domains like site design and development, site performance and scalability. Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Software Engineering and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. Participate in medium- to large-scale projects, including breaking monolithic ATG codebase into smaller functional modules from inception to design to production and developing scalable distributed micro service to scale ATG platform. Own the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design. Code review the work of other small groups of four to six engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects, including ensuring timely release of the modularized build. Give presentations to engineers and management about mavenization process and conduct trainings for maven. Provide and support the implementation of business solutions. Troubleshoot business and production issues. Contribute toward existing software libraries by providing bug fixes or new features. Serve as scrum master, conducting daily standups and maintaining JIRA board.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 3 years of experience building distributed and scalable ecommerce applications on cloud OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 6 years of experience building distributed and scalable ecommerce applications on cloud.

Skills required: Front end development experience. Java backend development experience using OSGI, Spring and Apache Camel framework. Experience with Scalable and Distributed computing. Experience with Caching frameworks like MemCache and Redis. Experience with SQL and No SQL Databases like Mongo DB. Experience with scripting languages like NSIS, bash, perl. Experience with Java Script, jQuery and AJAX. Experience in development of REST based API's. Experience with Web Application servers like Jboss. Experience with WebServers like TomCat. Experience with SaaS and PaaS concepts and multi-tenant software development. Experience with Operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux). Experience with development tools like Eclipse, IntelliJ, ANT and maven. Experience with Source Control tools like git and svn. Experience with Project management tools like JIRA and confluence. J2EE experience. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
