What you'll do

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer professional in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

Duties: Be responsible for large-scale, e-commerce Web applications development, tools development and maintenance. Interact with the business to provide robust technical solutions to business problems. Support our efforts in the @Platform group. Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Software Engineering and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. Participate in building application foundation for Walmart e-Commerce to facilitate the runtime communication across all services, which would include Service Registry, Runtime Policy Enforcement, Service Routing, Subscription-based Notification Services etc. Engage in and be responsible for design and implementation of modules under the architecture. Provide support to the business. Troubleshoot business and production issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, or related field and 2 years of experience in web applications development; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, or related field and 5 years of experience in web applications development.

Skills required: Experience in Enterprise Application Development. Experience in high volume, low latency and scalable software development. Core Java experience with demonstrated understanding of Concurrency and Multi-threaded programming. Hands on experience in profiling and performance benchmarking of Java application. Experience developing highly available and fault tolerant Web application using J2EE. Experience in web-service API design and development. Demonstrated software design experience with Object-Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) and Object Oriented Programming (OOPs). Experience in distributed multi-tenant application development. Experience in Unix and shell scripting. Experience in continuous integration through automated unit and integration test. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
