What you'll do at
-Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects
-Ensures business needs are being met
-Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects
-Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design
-Leads the work of other small groups of six to ten engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects
-Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
-Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates
-Supports business objectives
-Troubleshoots business and production issues
-Utilizes industry research to improve Wal-Mart's technology environment
-REQUIRED Minimum 5 years experience in native Android development
-Experience with the following programming languages: Java, Kotlin (desired).
-Strong knowledge of Android SDK core classes, their functionality and implementation
-Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, Mobile UI architectural patters, e.g. MVP, MVVM and Google UI design guidelines.
-Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
-Strong communication skills (both verbal & written) and ability to lead or contribute to multiple projects in an agile team environment.
-Experience with Realm, SQLite or Room databases.
-Experience with caching, threading, performance tuning and troubleshooting
-Experience with source code repositories such as GIT
-Understanding of Android security features, how to utilize them, security risks involved with Android implementations
-Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology and Scrum tools such as Confluence and Jira.
