What you'll do at

  • Our Team:
  • We work on Walmart’s strategic omnichannel customer experience product called GIF or Global Integrated Fulfillment. Simply speaking, we fulfill online customer orders at the stores. For example, customers can order grocery or general merchandise online and pick-up at the store. Products we support include Online Grocery, Pick-up Today, Site-to-Store and Grocery Delivery services. We are a global product currently supporting stores and clubs in US, UK, Canada and Mexico. We develop on-premise and cloud-native applications to support these programs. Our teams include backend and front-end engineers. Our tech stack is Java, Spring, Kafka, RDBMS, React Native, Azure, Splunk.

  • Role:
  • Develops Innovation strategies, processes, and best practices
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects
  • Ensures business needs are being met
  • Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects
  • Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design
  • Leads the work of other small groups of six to ten engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates
  • Supports business objectives
  • Troubleshoots business and production issues
  • Utilizes industry research to improve Wal-Mart's technology environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 4 years experience in software engineering or related field OR 6 years experience in software engineering or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years experience in software engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in mobile technology such as building apps for Android and IOS platforms.
  • 5+ years experience developing hybrid applications (Ionic, React Native, Cordova, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of modern front-end frameworks (Javascript, Angular, React, ReactNative etc.).
  • 4+ years experience with SQL Server 2008 or related program.
  • 4+ years experience with single sign-on configuration objects.
  • 3+ years experience in agile delivery, especially Scrum, Kanban or Scrumban as well as DevOps.
  • 4+ years writing technical design documents.

  • Expert in Java development
  • Experienced in micro-service architecture and design, REST and
  • SOAP service implementations using asynchronous communication patterns
  • Experience implementing continuous integration and delivery models
  • Experience with build automation (Jenkins, Team City, etc.)
  • Experience with deploying to cloud architecture
  • Experience with Automation testing using Selenium
  • 4+ year experience developing web services
  • 4+ years experience developing mobile apps.
  • 3 years experience in agile delivery, especially Scrum, Kanban or Scrumban as well as DevOps.
  • Demonstrated success in distributed systems, especially REST based services
  • Strong API design, development and management
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity, energy, perseverance and the desire to solve big problems
  • Strong knowledge in software development theory and practice
  • A product development agile mindset
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker
  • Strong knowledge of security standards, practices, and architecture
  • Keeping up to date with the terminology concepts and best practices for coding mobile apps
  • Working closely with colleagues to constantly innovate app functionality and design
