2019 PhD Summer Intern - Applied Behavioral Scientist, Sam’s Club

The Walmart Behavioral Science Unit is the world's leading industry-specific applied behavioral-science group. Headquartered in San Bruno, California, the team applies behavioral science research and methodologies across Walmart's projects in eCommerce, physical retail, marketing, and human resources. Walmart touches over a billion customers annually, and your work will have a tangible impact on their experiences--whether they're in San Francisco or Shanghai.

Minimum Qualifications

The Behavioral Science team in San Bruno is looking for an intern for the upcoming summer. As an intern, you will be a full member of the team, helping design experiments, research projects, and full-blown interventions. The Behavioral Science team works on exciting projects across the company--such as designing new store formats, creating new marketing programs, re-thinking our website and apps, and more.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a PhD degree program graduating not earlier than December 2019
• Strong quantitative and behavioral science research design
• Previous applied behavioral science experience in retail industry or public policy is a huge plus
• Strong statistical background with experience in either field experiment design or quasi-experiment data analysis or large industry data
