Our Team:

We are a team of software engineers working on utilizing the power of data via parallel computing paradigms to enable data science at scale throughout the enterprise. We are working on implementing machine learning algorithms utilizing GPU acceleration to enable the computational power required to solve large scale business problems in an efficient and affordable manner. As a member of this team, you will be exposed to the bleeding edge of parallel computing and learn how this technology is solving problems that were either unsolvable, or too costly to solve utilizing traditional computational approaches. We are seeking individuals that have the skillset, the experience and the disposition to learn new computational techniques as well as the ability to leverage their existing skillset. Your passion to learn, solid communicate skills, and your ability to work well with others are essential for success in this role.

Your Opportunity:

As part of the GPU development team @Walmart Labs, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference by being a part of development team that creates machine learning or mathematical implementations of GPU accelerated libraries. You will be able to work with industry experts in this growing and exciting field.

Your Responsibility:

•Design, build, test and deploy GPU accelerated computational libraries and extend ML algorithms up to higher level languages to be utilized by the data science community in Walmart.
•Interact with data science groups across Walmart to understand algorithms that require acceleration to meet operational constraints of either computational time or scale.
•Develop and implement services for deployments of machine learning model libraries.
•Assess GPU accelerated open source machine learning algorithms and develop deployment strategy for validated algorithms.
•Engage with Product Management, Data Science teams and Business stakeholders to set priorities and deliver analytic computational solutions to solve business problems.
•Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

You have a good understanding of low level programming primitives and the ability to learn to code in a non-traditional computer architecture.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 8 years experience in computer programming, software
development or related field OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 6 computer programming,
software development or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

•Master's degree in Computer Science, related Engineering field, or equivalent work experience
•3-5 years of experience working with a variety of technology systems
•Experience working in Retail/Public Service/Banking system related IT engineering
•Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, memory management, computer resource management, databases, operating systems, etc.
•Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and analytical problem solving.
•Experience with low level programming languages like C/C++.
•Experience or knowledge of CUDA language and parallel processing paradigms
•Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, applications and methods
•Knowledge of compilers, make files, and building of shared objects.
•Experience in building scalable/highly available distributed systems in production.
•Ability to work with distributed teams in a collaborative and productive manner.
•A self-motivated learner with a strong customer focus and obsession with quality and computational efficiency.
•Experience in or willingness to work as part of an open source project.
•Knowledge of or willingness to learn higher level languages such as Python and R.
